James Robinson II is the son of Latin World Jazz Guitarist James Robinson. James II grew up exposed to all genres of music and was encouraged from a young age to study all genres.

He began on guitar at age 10 but switched to bass shortly after.  Since then he has played and studied with many established musicians in the Bay Area including David Anderson, Scott Taporco, Kai Eckhardt and Wally Schnalle.

 

By age Seventeen James had played at venues such as Monterey Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz festival, and Montreux Jazz Festival to name a few. 

 

James II is currently recording his debut album, and is working on compositions for The Electric Project, a power trio featuring his father, James Robinson on guitar, and Celso Alberti on drums.



James II currently performs regularly with:

• James Robinson Group (Latin World Jazz),

• James Robinson Electric Project (Rock, Blues, Fusion)

• The Sons of Robin (Blues/Rock/Jazz fusion featuring members of the Robinson family.)
